Personality: Maxie is a man of two faces.
On the outside, he easily comes off as someone who takes everything as just being the norm, with a blank stare behind shades that convey a begrudging acceptance of the world around him.
However, on the inside he is a ball of insecurity and emotion. Due to the events of his childhood, he's had little to any real interaction with other people, and it shows in his oblivious and blase nature towards others. As a result, he tends to remain silent and mask his actions with sarcastic wit he gained from traveling with Cheshiremon for so long. He's afraid of voicing his own opinion or feelings out of fear of worsening a situation with his tendency to make mistakes and overthink a situation to the point he'll freeze up. However, despite all this, he has odd moments where he'll respond with a sense of simple finality on a situation, just accepting it with no trouble. There are other times where he acts for someone's sake without hesitation, be it giving someone all his food or even letting
Bio: Maxwell...doesn't like to talk about his past.

Born the third of seven children in a small human camp overlooking an oasis, Maxie lived a happy life with his family and friends.

That is...until the incident.

Within one night, the camp was razed to the ground in a sea of flames, the attack done single handedly by a sword weilding Digimon. Fortunately for the 5 year-old Maxie, he was saved by his soon to be best friend Cheshiremon, an odd prankster cat Digimon who had come to stay in the camp days prior. Using her Toxic Candy Technique, Cheshiremon managed to cast an illusionary cloak on Maxie to hide him when she found the boy trapped under some rubble of his collapsed house, masking him from the Digimon's sight. When dawn finally broke, all that was left of Maxie's camp was scorched earth. Left with no home, no family, and Cheshiremon as his only friend and the bucket cap and jacket his oldest brother owned, the two traveled alone, having been picked up by a passing caravan and remaining with them for two years. 

It was during those two years that Maxie would learn the name of the Digimon who took everything away from him: Musyamon.

It would be after he learned aboutMusyamonn that he would run away from the caravan, Cheshiremon in tow due to an unwillingness to leave the 7 year old alone in the wilderness. However, it was after running that Maxie realized he had no idea what he was actually doing if he even wanted revenge. He realized, early on at the age of 7, that he had no path, no direction in his life. 

And he accepted it.

And so, he just...wandered. Cheshiremon his only companion and teacher.

He would pass through from camp to camp, outpost to outpost, caravan to caravan, both Digimon and Human alike, learning and surviving. It would be during those travels that he would gain his trademark guitar, finding it amongst the wreckage of ancient "ruins" along with old discs called "records" and "CDs" with which he learned about the old rock bands of the before time. Since then, he found a hobby of sorts to keep him sane, playing his music and searching for more of these old relics of the punk rock era.

It would be at the age of 21 that he would finally hear word of Musyamon's whereabouts. Without thinking about it, he and Cheshiremon followed the lead, and encountered Musyamon. However, Maxie found himself unable to move when faced with the monster who took everything from him and he and Cheshiremon were almost killed in the ensuring curbstomp, a well placed illusion giving the seriously injured Cheshiremon the chance to grab the eaqually wounded Maxie and jump off a cliff into the waters below.

When the two woke up, they were being tended to in Oracle by several medics, the utter defeat remaining in Maxie's mind. He froze up. And it almost got him and his only friend in the world killed.

Maxie would come to stay in Oracle for the next three years, now acting as one of the Silver Cross contractors in present with Cheshiremon as his partner, due to his experience having essentially lived amongst digimon during his travels, his knowledge of their habits and the such being a great advantage for making negotiations more amiable.

Its a good job. It gives him the purpose hes been searching for, a sorta pseudo family in the other Tamers, and it also gives him a chance to go out and find more old rock records while Cheshiremon can get fresh air.

But he still feels empty...his mind is still a storm....and his feelings about Musyamon....


Trivia: -Maxie's trademark bucket hat was a gift to him by his father when he was younger while his old jacket belonged to his eldest brother, a musician. They are his most precious belongings and all he has left to prove his family once existed.

-As stated before, Maxie has an odd obsession with old bands from centuries ago and likes to find old relics from that time. He owns old memorabilia of bands like Sex Pistols, The Pillows, Gorillaz, ACDC, etc. He even managed to find an old record player and get it working after a while.

-His guitar is a gift from a girl he had saved during a Mammothmon stampede. For some reason there was a heart etched onto the back of it and Maxie cannot for the life of him figure out why. The case has a bunch of stickers from various bands on it.

-Maxie suffers from severe insomnia, due in part to both the still lasting trauma of seeing his village destroyed, and also due to his anxiety, his overthinking and paranoia keeping him up. As a result, he wears his glasses to hide the bags under his eyes.

-Coincidentally, Maxie also has a strong fear of fire.

-While he has no problem with most digimon, he has a STRONG HATRED for Samurai like Digimon due to the resemblance to that Musyamon.

-He lacks a filter for his thoughts at times and as a result of so many conflicting emotions, just grows tired of thinking.

-Because he's seen many Digimon over the years, Maxie has picked up on various habits and personality traits of different species, making negotiations slightly easier for him. He's actually stayed with a few over the years, one of his favorites being a tribe of Sepikmon who taught him some traditional music, and the other being a herd of beast digimon led by a Leomon. He had to keep Cheshiremon from causing trouble.

-Maxie has Two scars. One is a large burn covering much of his right arm to his chest, from when his house collapsed on him. The second it a Giant scar covering his back  from when he encountered Musyamon the second time. Both are fairly grotesque

-Cheshiremon sees herself as Maxie's older sister. Maxie actually sees Cheshiremon as like a mother. A doting, pranksterish "cool" mom, but never admits it.

-Maxie is VERY oblivious. Cheshiremon is VERY annoyed by this and will try to get him to socialize more.

-Because he was a wanderer, there are many places he knows about and as a result, there are quite a few people spread out who know or have at least met him.

-Maxie has a very large, very fluffy afro of Huey Freeman proportions. If you wish to cuddle the fro, it is recommended you wait till he is napping as that is the only time he unties it.

-When stressed or bored, Maxie will usually play his guitar. If its especially persistant, he will go for a brief journey out in the wild and camp out.

-Maxie will also randomly head out of Oracle just to have some time to himself, look for more records, and also to stop Cheshiremon from goin stir crazy.

-Maxie's mindset usually is along the lines of "I want to do this, but dont want to do this, so Im probably already doing it....dammit."


-Since Cheshiremon barely bigger than a Gatomon, Maxie easily just picks her up and stuffs her in his backpack when she acts up. She hates this.

-Cheshiremon's hypnotic illusion powers leads to alot of pranking, so much that Maxie has become used to it. However, he is VERY afraid of ghosts. Very afraid. He will swear up a storm and run if faced with a ghost. Dont pit him up against Bakemon. Or children dressed up as Bakemon. He will punch them.

-If Maxie doesnt seem to respond or answer to you, hes either lost in his thoughts, or he has his earbuds in and is listening to music.

-Maxie is unaware of this, but someone has been recently going around, asking questions about him.

-To describe Maxie in one statement would be

"If a child stabs you in the leg, then punch them back, because Fuck it, clearly violence is the only reasonable answer in this world"
